On Friday 3rd November, we welcomed staff, partners, friends and stakeholders to our first Migrant Matters event at the Time & Tide cafe in Gt Yarmouth.
The event was multi-purpose and people were able to:
Enjoy delicious international food prepared by our staff and volunteers (many of whom have a lived experience of migration into the UK) in our amazing new Bistro café ‘The Silver Darlings’
Experience snapshots of our community activities and communities
Hear about the findings of our 4-year National Lottery Community funded ‘Community Pathways Partnership’ with our partners ACCESS and Keystone Development Trust
Understand our future plans and how they may be able to get involved - including the launch of Migration Matters East
Hear from some of our partners, including Professor Catherine Barnard and Fiona Costello from the University of Cambridge, who have been undertaking their own research around our migrant communities, which has fed into a new book: The House, The Street, The Town (the cover of which was designed by Zoya, one of our team).
